
Teaching Assistant + Culinary Nutrition Expert
My story is so much like the stories of others who’ve come to holistic medicine by way of their own illness. After years of using over-the-counter and prescription drugs to treat my gastrointestinal angst, severe asthma, reflux, allergies, and colds, a stranger introduced me to the film Forks Over Knives.
Game-changer. It was the first time someone had suggested that I could change my life so radically with food. It was also the first time I’d seen holistic and functional medicine practitioners working one-on-one with patients to treat their illnesses naturally. And I was a Registered Nurse! Why hadn’t I heard about this before? It was simultaneously infuriating and empowering.
Feeling that I had nothing to lose, I engaged in a wild and crazy experiment: eating only whole, plant-based food! What happened in just a few months shocked me. All of my symptoms resolved. It truly felt like a miracle.
It also shifted my perspective on health and healing. I earned certifications in holistic Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University, and Culinary Nutrition from what is now the incredible Academy of Culinary Nutrition.
Now, I work with other awesome folks to help them take back their own health, naturally – and with a lot of love and support along the way. This isn’t something you should have to go alone. I’m so thrilled to be joining Meghan’s amazing team of change-makers. It’s an honour to be here.
