  5. April-Tui @apriltui

great lost except ‘Deliciously Ella’ is not a vegan blog, in fact she hates the word vegan

    1. Nina

I can’t find anything in Deliciously Ella that wouldn’t be vegan, except honey. I know there are sites that don’t want to be called vegan because they want people to think about a plant-based diet rather than the restrictions of veganism. Not sure if this fits for others.

      1. Dana Armstrong

As a new vegan, I’m wondering what the difference is between “vegan” and “plant based.” Thanks! :)

        1. Academy of Culinary Nutrition

The general difference is that vegans don’t consume any animal products whatsoever, while people who follow plant-based diets eat a lot of plant foods but don’t restrict themselves solely to non-animal foods – so they may eat animals foods like ghee, bone broth, fish, poultry, etc.

        2. Angel Clark

Vegan is a lifestyle. Plant based is dietary only. For example, vegans won’t buy anything leather or silk. They won’t eat honey. They won’t use cosmetics and toiletries that include animal bi-products (that’s a lot) or have been tested on animals.

        3. Sandra

Plant based is diet and inward focused: how does my diet affect me? Vegan is lifestyle and outward focused: how does my lifestyle choices affect others?
