Expert Spotlight: Abigail Keeso
We’re so thrilled that we were able to offer a number of scholarships to the Culinary Nutrition Expert Program this year, including the Live Life In Bold Scholarship sponsored by Genuine Health. Today, we’re chatting with Abigail Keeso, current student in the Fall 2014 program and Live Life In Bold Scholarship winner. Congratulations, Abigail!
How would you describe your current day job?
My time is split between working as a paediatric Registered Nurse in Toronto and building my business, That Clean Life.
How has the Culinary Nutrition Expert Program changed your perspective on health and cooking?
I felt that I had a solid foundation of the world of health and nutrition going into the program, but the CNE program has filled in knowledge gaps that I didn’t even know existed and has brought to my attention things I would have never considered otherwise. Two concepts that I’ve really enjoyed becoming more aware of are the importance of maintaining an environmentally friendly kitchen and eating for awesome energy (also known as regulating the body’s blood sugar).
What has been the most rewarding aspect of the Culinary Nutrition Expert Program so far?
The knowledge I have gained and the sense of empowerment that I’ve grown. Knowledge is power. The program has definitely renewed my passion for the world of health and nutrition.
As each week of the program passes, I truly can feel my inner healthy flame shining a bit brighter.
How will you put your culinary nutrition wisdom to work after you graduate?
The knowledge I have gained will allow me to continue developing healthy and balanced recipes and meal plans for That Clean Life. I am so excited to take everything I have learned through the CNE program to make the world a healthier, happier and more vibrant place.
What are your everyday habits that help you Live Life In Bold?
Exercising. Sweating. Fuelling my body with clean food. Drinking a ton of water. Practicing gratitude, remembering to stay in the moment and remaining connected with the people, places and things that make my soul happy.
Each term, we’re so thrilled to be able to offer scholarships to a handful of amazing students. For more info about the upcoming Fall 2015 Culinary Nutrition Expert Program, hop on over here and make sure you’re on our list.
